Cursor Community Uzbekistan is the local chapter of the global Cursor Community — the worldwide network of developers organised around Cursor, the AI code editor. The chapter runs Cafe Cursor days and hackathons in Tashkent, on the same format used from London to Taipei.
It was founded and is led by Nick Shilov — a software engineer, an official Cursor Ambassador, and the person who brought the AI-native developer movement to Uzbekistan. He is also building Cafe Cursor here: a space where people code, meet other builders, exchange ideas — the usual "let's grab coffee," made practical.
That is what makes this award different from a discount code. The credits come with a community attached — and the five startups are chosen by the one person in the room whose job is to know what local builders are actually making.

A working chapter, not a chat group
The Tashkent chapter's first Cafe Cursor filled a café with 120+ builders. Its CURSOR 48H hackathon drew 180+ registrations to prototype and ship AI products in a single weekend.

Cafe Cursor is the format the chapter is built on: take over a café for a day, bring your laptop, work next to other builders. The usual "let's grab coffee" — turned into something you leave with working code from.
